Trust

Reach up & trust!

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

This blog is based on the above verse and on the story of Joshua leading the Israelites into the land God promised them in Joshua 3.

Do we really believe that? I do, yet at times I falter in my faith and trust. I believe and yet I question, “Will God really be there for little ol’ me in this situation? I’m not Joshua or Moses or a great pastor or leader. I’m just a mom.”

I’m happy to say that God always whispers back to my questioning heart, “Yes, my child, I am there for you too. You are my child and I love you.”

During one of my questioning moments, I wrote this poem which I decided to share with you today partly because I am doing a project on blogging. I guess in a way, this is a homework assignment. Wherever the motivation comes from, still I hope this poem blesses you on those days when perhaps you too are questioning, “Will you really be there for little ol’ me, God?” May you here His resounding,”Yes!” echoing in your heart.

The flood waters rage,
There seems to be no way,
Do not be afraid or discouraged.

The battle is long,
The battle is hard,
Do not be afraid or discouraged.

Take possession of all,
All I am giving you,
Though as yet,
You do not see the way.
Victory lies just ahead of you,
If you simply trust me today.

Do not be afraid or discouraged.

My way is best,
Though it sometimes is hard,
And the battle rages away.
Yet I am with you,
Every step of the way,
Give me your battles today.

Do not be afraid or discouraged.
